KAYPAT also conducted a media sensitization campaign through Mtaani and Ghetto radio station. The conversations were focusing/sensitizing the community on mental health awareness and the importance of taking care of oneself and family.
The aim of the talk shows was to help address the increasing cases of mental health disorders that had become more rampant as a result of the pandemic. Some of the most commonly reported mental health disorders at the time were stress, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder among others. Some other issues that were addressed included increase in family disintegration and violence that were mostly as a result of financial constraints as a consequence of the numerous job losses.
